Daniel Jones Re-signs with the New York Giants
Giants Show Faith in Quarterback
Jones Signs Four-Year, $160 Million Deal
The New York Giants have made a significant investment in their quarterback, Daniel Jones, signing him to a four-year, $160 million contract.
The move sends a clear message that the Giants believe Jones is their franchise quarterback, despite a disappointing 2022 season that saw him suffer an ACL tear in November.
Jones impressed the Giants' new management team, led by general manager Joe Schoen, with his work ethic and leadership during his rehabilitation.
"Daniel is a talented young quarterback who has shown a great deal of growth and development in his career," Schoen said in a statement. "We are confident that he will continue to improve and lead our team to success."
Jones, who was drafted sixth overall by the Giants in 2019, has shown flashes of brilliance in his short career, but has also struggled with consistency.
He will be under pressure to deliver in 2023 under new head coach Brian Daboll, who is known for his offensive creativity.
The Giants are hoping that Jones can stay healthy and lead them to their first playoff appearance since 2016.
