Manager Departs After Just One Season

West London Club Announce Departure By Mutual Consent

Chelsea have announced that manager Mauricio Pochettino has left the club by mutual consent after just one season in charge. The Argentinian manager joined Chelsea in July 2023 and guided the West London club to a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League. Pochettino's departure comes after a disappointing season for Chelsea, who failed to qualify for any European competition. The club have not yet announced a replacement for Pochettino, but it is believed that former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is the favourite to take over. Di Matteo, who won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, is currently the manager of Italian club Inter Milan. Chelsea's decision to part ways with Pochettino after just one season has come as a surprise to many, but the club will be hoping that a change of manager will help them to improve their fortunes on the pitch.
